HK’s Representatives Aim to Win at 2008 IEF in Wuhan, China

(3 December 2008, Hong Kong) – The International E-sports Festival (“IEF”) hosted by C Y Foundation Group Limited (SEHK: 1182; “C Y Foundation”) will be held in Wuhan, China from the 5th to 7th December. Winners of the Hong Kong preliminary trials are now preparing for the international tournament finals, hoping to win glory for Hong Kong.

Since its establishment in 2005, IEF has organized large-scale events in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian and Qingdao in China, and Seoul, Kangneung and Taebaek in Korea. The programme for 2008 IEF is diverse and includes a grand opening ceremony, e-sport competitions, cosplay shows and forums for the digital creative industry. Visitor numbers are expected to reach 150 thousand.

The grand opening ceremony of 2008 IEF will be held on the 5 December with Mr. Ruan Chengfa, Mayor of Wuhan, as a guest of honour. Pop stars Lee Jung Hyun and Nobrain from Korea, Eric De, Yu Haoming, He Jie and Guo Feng from the mainland and Nikki Chow from Hong Kong will perform at the opening ceremony. In addition, senior officials from related government departments as well as representatives of domestic and foreign companies involved in the digital creative industry will participate in IEF forums.

The IEF finals, a key highlight of the event, will be held over three separate days and is expected to attract crowds of gaming enthusiasts. Hong Kong’s preliminary trials, held in November, were a great success. They will compete against 120 participants from China, Korea, Japan, France, Sweden, Ukraine and Singapore for grand prizes which have a total value of over RMB 1 million.
